AS ANYONE WHO HAS ever seen Judge Stephanie B. Manis on the bench can attest, her judicial style is anything but languid. Leaning forward, peering intently at the parties before the bench, lawyers know that her beaming smile is the deceptive public aspect of a diligent, razor-sharp judicial mind that has little patience for the unprepared attorney or poorly crafted argument.
