The Augusta judge who denied two transgender name changes on grounds they would “confuse and mislead” the public has been reversed by the Georgia Court of Appeals and ordered to approve both requests.
Rebecca Elizabeth Feldhaus, who seeks a name change to Rowan Elijah Feldhaus, and Delphine Renee Baumert, who seeks a change to Andrew Norman Baumert, appealed Judge J. David Roper’s denial and argued that he abused his discretion.
