Phyllis Douglas, the Superior and State Court administrator in Clayton County, issued a press release Wednesday saying, “It is with great sadness that the State Court of Clayton County announces the passing of Retired State Court Judge Morris Eugene Braswell.”
The release said Braswell died Monday at his home in Sautee Nacoochee. He was born in Canton on Feb. 12, 1951, graduating from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in 1978, practicing law for 18 years before being elected to the Clayton County State Court in 1996 and serving five terms through 2016.
