Ruling in a suit brought by the mother of a young man murdered at the Fulton County Jail, a judge dismissed negligence claims against the jail’s care contractor. Claims against Corizon Health, the judge said, were actually for medical malpractice and thus should have been accompanied by an expert’s affidavit as required by law.

The complaint accused Corizon staffers of failing to complete a form required by the jail each time an inmate is moved to another cell for medical or mental health reasons.
