In the Interest of L. J.

The evidence was sufficient to authorize the juvenile's adjudication for delinquency for aggravated assault based on the juvenile's act of knocking an arrow in a bow and pointing it in the victim's general direction, but the evidence was insufficient to authorize the adjudication for delinquency for aggravated assault based on the juvenile's act of shooting the arrow at the victim's truck tire.

The juvenile court of Monroe County adjudicated L. J. delinquent for acts which, if committed by an adult, would have constituted criminal trespass and aggravated assault.1 L. J. appeals following the denial of his motion for new trial, as twice amended, arguing in his sole enumeration of error that the evidence was insufficient to support the adjudication of delinquency. As more fully set forth below, we now affirm in part and reverse in part.

On appeal of an adjudication of delinquency, the appellate court determines whether after viewing the evidence in the light most favorable to the prosecution, any rational trier of fact could have found the essential elements of the acts charged beyond a reasonable doubt. Virginia, 443 U.S. 307 99 SCt 2781, 61 LE2d 560 1979.
