A legal battle that could change the outcome in product liability cases all over the state escalated Tuesday in oral arguments at the Georgia Court of Appeals.
On the appellant side was Ford Motor Co., represented by a cadre of lawyers from three firms in Atlanta, backed by an amicus brief submitted by 100 international corporations. They urged Presiding Judge Anne Barnes and Judges Michael Boggs and William Ray II to stop a trial court from rehearing a case or risk unleashing a flood of motions for new trials across Georgia.
