When Matt Denn took over as Delaware's attorney general in January, he was met with a changing landscape of criminal law in the First State, which defined in part his first year and shaped a number of initiatives and reforms he has chosen to pursue.
The General Assembly was then considering a bill that would decriminalize personal possession of up to one ounce of marijuana for personal use. Denn, who had supported the bill while running for office, was working with law enforcement to prepare for its potential impact.
“Our role was, really, providing legal advice with respect to what that would mean for law enforcement, both when the bill was being considered and then once it was passed,” Denn said.
