At the eighth annual Secure Delaware workshop in Dover, Potter Anderson & Corroon partner Bill Denny gave a presentation titled “Trends in Data Breach Disclosure Laws: Recent Developments and Best Practices to Minimize Legal Risk.”
He addressed the many changes in Delaware and other state laws governing the scope of protected data, the expanded view of what constitutes a breach, the various and contradictory notice requirements and communications with law enforcement and regulatory agencies. Denny also participated in a panel discussion about incident-response planning and what to do after a cybersecurity breach.
Denny practices primarily in the areas of cybersecurity, data privacy and information governance.
According to a press release from the firm, Secure Delaware provides cybersecurity training for Delaware's citizens, business employees, students and government employees. Potter Anderson sponsored the event.
