Disadvantaged Delaware students will see an additional $80 million in funding within about four years, based on a settlement agreement announced Monday between state officials and two organizations.

Provided Gov. John Carney introduces legislation proposing the funding and services outlined in the agreement, Delawareans for Educational Opportunity and the NAACP of Delaware have agreed to drop the case filed in 2018 against Carney, Secretary of Education Susan Bunting, Treasurer Kenneth A. Simpler and financial officers in each of the state’s three counties.
