The Family Court of Delaware celebrated its 50th anniversary with an event marking the milestone Sept. 7, according to a court representative. The anniversary commemorated the day the 1971 unification of Delaware’s smaller family court systems into one statewide court took effect.

The event took place in a tent on the Legislative Mall in Dover and included members of the state judiciary and state government leaders.
