Netflix has been hit with a defamation suit in the District of Delaware on Monday by a woman who says she’s experienced retaliation since a character based on her was portrayed negatively.

Rachel DeLoache Williams, represented by Farnan and Rufus-Isaacs Acland & Grantham, claims Netflix intentionally vilified her in “Inventing Anna,” the limited series based on the life of Anna Sorokin, who was convicted on theft-related charges in 2019 and was a friend of Williams.
