This has been a rough year economically speaking, and the legal business has not been immune, beset by layoffs and dissolutions, as happened to Philadelphia firm Wolf Block this spring.

According to The National Law Journal, a Delaware Law Weekly affiliate, the total number of lawyers working at the 250 largest U.S. law firms dropped by 5,259 from October 2008 to September 2009, a 4 percent decline.
