The environmental disaster in the Gulf of Mexico caused by the explosion of the BP oil rig Deepwater Horizon has already led to hundreds of lawsuits, and now one has been filed in the Court of Chancery.

On May 21, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority and Robert Freedman filed a complaint against the officers and directors of U.K.-based BP plc and a number of its stateside subsidiaries. Both plaintiffs are holders of BP “American Depositary Shares.”
