St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Co. has filed a lawsuit seeking to remove itself from the duty of defending or reimbursing the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del., from civil lawsuits related to the crimes committed by former pediatrician Earl Bradley.

Bradley received 14 life sentences last month for molesting hundreds of children. He worked as pediatrician at Beebe between 1994 and 1998 and was affiliated with the hospital through his private practice until his arrest in 2009.
