Morris James has pulled from its own ranks to replace its longtime executive director, Thomas Herweg, who retired at the end of March.

Stepping into the role is Sherry Perna a certified legal manager who joined Morris James in 2000. She was the firm's controller until last fall, when the firm hired a new controller and Perna temporarily took on the title of chief financial officer.

Herweg, who worked more than 15 years at Morris James, retired effective March 31. He is continuing to serve in a consultant position until the end of the year, the firm said, to assist with the transition.
