The Delaware Court of Chancery has refused to expedite an appeal because it could delay the court-ordered sale of a profitable translation-services company.

Chancellor Andre G. Bouchard on Tuesday declined to immediately send to the Supreme Court the appeal of his decision that blocked a bid to force a meeting of TransPerfect Global Inc. stockholders.

In a 10-page order, Bouchard said the forced-sale, which is being conducted by court-appointed custodian Robert B. Pincus, was expected to wrap up in the “near future” and that a challenge to his Aug. 4 ruling should be considered along with any potential appeal of the sale itself, which is subject to Bouchard's approval.
