Fox Rothschild announced that Sidney S. Liebesman joined the Wilmington office as a partner in the litigation department.

Liebesman, a trial attorney, handles corporate law issues, shareholder derivative litigation and class action litigation involving shareholder rights and securities fraud. He has represented institutional investors and played major roles in prosecuting high-profile securities fraud civil actions, including In re: Tyco International Ltd. Securities Litigation, which settled for $3.2 billion, and In re: Global Crossing Ltd. Securities Litigation, which settled for nearly $450 million, according to a press release.

Liebesman has appeared before tribunals and conducted depositions in Europe, Singapore and Australia. He played a central role in the landmark Pan-European settlement of securities claims under Dutch law—the first of its kind in the Amsterdam Court of Appeals—where he represented dozens of financial institutions throughout Europe, according to the firm in a prepared statement.

Prior to practicing law, Liebesman was a police officer with the New Castle County Police Department.

Before joining Fox Rothschild, Liebesman was a partner in the litigation department of a mid-Atlantic law firm.
