Scott D. Cousins, co-chair and director of Bayard P.A.'s business restructuring and liquidations group, was scheduled to speak on a panel at the 16th annual Emory Bankruptcy Developments Symposium.
The panel, titled “Chapter 15 Choice of Law: A Formula for Conveyance Actions in a Shrinking World,” was set to be held Feb. 21 at Emory University School of Law in Atlanta.
According to the firm's website, Cousins has experience in business reorganizations, liquidations and distressed sales and acquisitions, as well as commercial transactions.
He is a published author and often speaks on issues and developments in bankruptcy and insolvency law.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
