The Delaware State Bar Association is set to hold a Brown Bag Lunch and Learn event titled “Understanding Social Security Retirement.”

The event is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 12, with registration beginning at 11:30 a.m.

According to the DSBA website, John S. Whitelaw, advocacy director of the Community Legal Aid Society Inc., is set to give the presentation.

Topics will include how Social Security retirement and survivor programs are run, how a person can qualify for benefits, and what those benefits can provide when retiring. 

The course offers one CLE credit for Delaware and Pennsylvania lawyers. The presentation is set to occur live at the DSBA in New Castle County and through live webcasts at Morris James in Kent County and Tunnell & Raysor in Sussex County.
