General counsel feel pressure to increase their firms’ commitment to ESG initiatives, and in many cases support them, but at the same time they’re concerned those efforts escalate legal and regulatory risks, according to a new report.

The survey, conducted by Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford University, found that much of the pressure to embrace an environmental, social and governance agenda is coming from their own employees.
