A state court jury returned guilty verdicts on three misdemeanor charges Friday, finding Delaware Auditor Kathy McGuiness illegally structured a contract to skirt procurement laws and improperly allowed her daughter to work in her office.
McGuiness was convicted on official misconduct, structuring and conflict of interest charges, but the jury acquitted her of the two felony charges the state was pursuing: theft and witness intimidation.
