McDermott Will & Emery filed a patent infringement lawsuit Tuesday in Delaware District Court against Pfizer and BioNTech. The complaint was brought on behalf of Alnylam Pharmaceuticals over its patented lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology, used to deliver RNA-based vaccines. The complaint accuses the defendants of infringing the technology through their sale of a COVID-19 vaccine. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 1:22-cv-00924, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc. v. Pfizer Inc. et al.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
