The latest mass tort bankruptcy, this time by Endo International, garnered support from plaintiffs lawyers representing thousands of cities, counties and states suing drugmakers over the opioid crisis.
Endo filed a Chapter 11 petition late Tuesday, agreeing to provide $450 million to state and local governments. The first hearing in the Chapter 11 case is set for Thursday before U.S. Bankruptcy Judge James Garrity of the Southern District of New York.
