A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit was divided over the amount of postjudgment interest due on a loan that defaulted more than a decade ago and was recently resolved via a consent judgment by the district court.
“Parties settle their civil disputes,” stated Judge Joseph A. Greenaway Jr. “They enter into agreements wherein plaintiffs dismiss their case or defendants consent to entry of a judgment. The cases end.”
