The candidate list is composed of two judges and five private practitioners. The judges are Samuel Glasscock III, the current Chancery Court master, and Mary Johnston of the Superior Court. The lawyers include Richard E. Berl Jr. of Smith Feinberg McCartney & Berl, Kevin Brady of Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz, Richard Forsten with Saul Ewing, Joel Friedlander of Bouchard Margules & Friedlander, and Bruce Silverstein of Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor.

The seven submitted their applications to the state’s Judicial Nominating Commission, which is expected to send a list of three to Gov. Jack Markell, who will make a choice and then submit the name to the state Senate for approval.
