Delaware Court of Chancery Vice Chancellor Donald F. Parsons Jr. has granted a shareholder’s request to examine China MediaExpress Holdings Inc.’s books and records, despite a securities suit pending against the corporation in federal court and the possibility that a federal judge could stay the vice chancellor’s decision.

China MediaExpress, which is referred to in the court’s opinion as CME, is currently facing a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. Starr Investments Cayman II, an affiliate of the financial services company managed by former American International Group Inc. Chairman Maurice "Hank" Greenberg, filed the suit in March.
