Delaware Governor Jack Markell has visited several countries in an effort to attract international business entities to both incorporate and open offices in the state. On a recent trip to India, attorneys in that country told the governor and his staff that Delaware’s Court of Chancery and its modern corporate law are key incentives for businesses seeking economic relations with the state.

"The way we get our foot in the door is the work Delaware does with corporations," said Delaware Secretary of State Jeffrey W. Bullock. "I’ve found in my time as secretary of state, it is a very effective way to meet whoever you want to meet, especially when you are traveling out of the country. In our first trip to India we focused on that and visited five of the top 10 corporate law firms in India."
