The Delaware Court of Chancery has referred misconduct and ethical violation allegations levied against the New York plaintiffs attorney representing the owner of the Sequoia presidential yacht in a loan dispute to the Delaware Office of Disciplinary Counsel and the New York bar for investigation. The attorney, Larry Hutcher, has denied the charges and asserted that defense counsel's claims that he sought to extort them by threatening to publicly release a possibly damaging report about defendant FE Partners LLC was an "erroneous interpretation" of statements he made during a casual conversation.

Vice Chancellor Sam Glasscock III issued the July 5 letter opinion in Sequoia Presidential Yacht Group v. FE Partners.
