The Delaware Court of Chancery has upheld most of the attorney-client privilege claims Dell Inc. had invoked in its contract dispute with a patent licensing software designer. Of the 41 documents challenged by the software designer, Vice Chancellor Donald F. Parsons Jr. held that Dell correctly labeled 37 documents as protected under attorney-client privilege because the business and legal advice in the documents cannot be separated.
