Gov. Jack Markell expects to present his Delaware Court of Chancery chancellor nominee to the General Assembly before lawmakers take a holiday in early April, the governor’s chief legal counsel said. However, it is unclear how the resignation of two recent Judicial Nominating Commission members will impact Markell’s timeline.

“I think it is fair to say that the governor intends to nominate a candidate after the Joint Finance Committee break, but before the General Assembly’s Easter break,” said Markell’s chief legal counsel, Andrew Lippstone.
