Vice Chancellor Donald F. Parsons Jr. last week notified Gov. Jack Markell of his decision not to seek reappointment for a second 12-year term on the Delaware Court of Chancery, the state judiciary announced Monday.

Parsons is set to step down Oct. 22, when his term expires. He was nominated to the Court of Chancery by former Gov. Ruth Ann Minner and installed as a vice chancellor Oct. 22, 2003.
