Former Vice President Al Gore and Joel Hyatt, both former members and directors of cable-channel operator Current Media LLC, won a bid in the Delaware Court of Chancery to have Al-Jazeera advance fees and expenses relating to the Qatar-based broadcaster’s 2013 purchase of the now-shuttered channel.

In a 29-page opinion, Vice Chancellor Sam Glasscock III characterized the advancement dispute as fitting a familiar pattern of “hirer’s remorse,” where an employer resists making advancement payments to the employees it’s suing.
