Attorneys for Philip R. Shawe are preparing to ask the Delaware Court of Chancery to order a shareholder meeting to elect a new slate of directors for TransPerfect Global Inc., to avoid a court-ordered sale of the profitable translation-service company, Shawe’s lawyer said on Thursday.
The motion, which is expected to be filed “within the next week,” would ask Chancellor Andre G. Bouchard to order the meeting, in which Shawe’s mother plans to vote her 1 percent stake in TransPerfect with Elizabeth Elting, a 50 percent owner of the company she founded with Shawe in 1992, attorney Martin P. Russo said.
