Dr. Geis is an experienced forensic expert with a national reputation in suicide wrongful death, mental injury, and criminal responsibility, with over 750 forensic cases in a wide range of cases. He has a Ph.D. in psychology (University of Kansas) and did a psychiatric internship (Indiana Medical School) and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship (the Menninger Foundation). As a Psychiatry Professor for 36 years, he engaged in a range
of clinical and administrative activities, including teaching, researching (with over $12
million dollars in funding), and supervising. He has extensive experience (over 53,000 clinical hours) with every type of clinical condition and treatment and was Clinical Director of a 20,000-patient mental health center for a decade. He has gained international status as a suicide and early trauma researcher and clinician, has trained
over 10,000 clinicians in Enhanced Suicide Care, and was previously the Clinical Division Director of the American Association of Suicidology. Finally, his extensive teaching and clinical training expertise enhances his ability to provide competent, non-jargon-filled court testimony.
