Dr. Layton has been working as a licensed professional engineer and expert witness for well over a decade in fields ranging from automobile and truck accident reconstruction, biomedical instrumentation patent law, spinal injury, soft tissue injury, scientific misconduct, construction practices, and wrongful-death forensics. Since 2014 Dr. Layton has been retained in more than twenty five cases in states including California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Washington and has been deposed over eight times. Dr. Layton's authorship of the textbook, Molecular and Cellular Biomechanics, his service as an editor for the IEEE's Tissue Mechanics Track and his publication record of over one-hundred peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and conference papers as well as his training through SEAK has prepared him for providing comprehensive expert witness services.
