David Wolowitz, JD is a practicing attorney with over 40 years of experience protecting the interests of vulnerable individuals and advising schools and youth serving organizations (YSOs) on the protection of students from harm. Mr. Wolowitz consults with schools nationwide and internationally on all aspects of risk prevention and crisis response. In addition to K-12 schools, he also advises churches, camps, sport groups and other YSOs. He is a pioneer in the application of boundary training and behavioral risk management to schools and YSOs. He is a frequent speaker at regional and national conferences on topics relating to child safeguarding. He has significant experience as a trial lawyer and was an invited guest teaching member of the Trial Advocacy Workshop at Harvard Law School for 29 years.
Mr. Wolowitz has served as an expert witness for plaintiffs and defendants on the current and historic standards of care for the protection of students and other children from harm by educators, peers, and trusted adults, as well as the adequacy of school and YSO policies, procedures, investigations, remediation, and training. He is able to address issues relating to boundary violations, grooming, sexual misconduct and molestation by teachers, coaches, counselors, religious advisors, and other trusted adults. He is also experienced dealing with issues relating to hazing, harassment, and bullying by peers; misconduct on school and YSO trips; sports and camping misconduct; Title IX; and more.
