Rodney Richmond is President and a member of the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy, and he is well-versed in state and federal regulations that govern or impact pharmacy practice. He is professor and department chair of pharmacy practice at Harding University College of Pharmacy. Some of Dr. Richmond’s expertise include:
- Pharmacy Standards of Care in pharmacy settings that include: retail, hospital,
nursing home/long-term care, ambulatory care, hospice, home health, patient
counseling/failure to warn, and clinical pharmacy services, among others.
- Expertise in drug safety, including assessing medication errors, drug interactions,
adverse reactions, overdose/death, and some issues related to product liability.
- Well-versed in applied pharmacology (e.g. causal relationship between drug exposure and subsequent effects and pharmacokinetics).
- Board-certified in geriatric pharmacy and have expertise in drug therapy in the elderly (psychoactive medications, psychotropic drug reactions, polypharmacy).
- Pain management, controlled ubstances/narcotics, recreational drugs (e.g. alcohol/DUI, methamphetamine, and opioids).
- Pharmacy operations (managed care, drug distribution systems, pharmacoeconomics).
