Dr. Simon is an Orthopaedic Surgeon whose malpractice expertise is in two separate subspecialties of this field: Adult Foot & Ankle Orthopaedics and Pediatric Orthopaedics. In each of these areas he has more than 40+ years of clinical experience. After completing his training at Harvard in 1976, he joined the clinical staff at Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital. There he combined his clinical practice with research and administrative activities and achieved the rank of Associate Professor of Orthopaedics at Harvard within 10 years. In 1986, he became Chairman and Professor of Orthopaedics at Ohio State University, where he continued his clinical practice in adult orthopaedics at the OSU University Hospital and his pediatric orthopaedic practice at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
In 1998 Dr. Simon returned to his native city, New York, becoming a member of the staff at Beth Israel-Mount Sinai Health System & Icahn School of Medicine. As in Ohio, Dr. Simon was Clinical Professor and became Site Chair of Orthopaedics there. Since 2021, he has been Adjunct Professor in Orthopaedics at Brown University. In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Simon has been principal investigator on US and other research grants continuously from 1976-1998. He has 100+ peer-reviewed articles published in leading orthopaedic journals and received awards from more than 10 organizations. He has chaired and served on committees for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and has been a reviewer for the leading orthopaedic publications.
