Dr. Whalen has co-authored national peer-reviewed Best Practices Guidelines for the chiropractic profession on low back pain and chronic pain, and was lead author on the recently published neck pain guideline and low back guideline. He has been an Expert Consultant for the Board of Examiners since 2008. Dr. Whalen has reviewed hundreds of files though peer review in personal injury cases, and has provided continuing education courses for the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the Division of Workers Compensation, on a variety of topics including documentation, disability evaluation and treatment guidelines.
