To be clear, I hate change. It doesn’t make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. More like queasy. But I have learned, in the last few months more than ever, that change can be invigorating—once the Tums kick in.

Right around the time I became executive editor of The American Lawyer, I got a fortune cookie that said “Fortune favours the brave.” (Must have been printed in London.) That one got tacked on the wall that is my Instagram account. I couldn’t agree with it more.
