JDS Uniphase Corp. Names New GC
JDS Uniphase Corp., a global supplier of broadband and optical solutions, named Matthew Fawcett vice president and general counsel. Prior to joining the company, Fawcett served as JDSU's associate general counsel and senior director of global intellectual property, where he oversaw the development and management of JDSU's intellectual property portfolio and programs.
GM Hires New GC
General Motors hired Robert S. Osborne as its group vice president and general counsel. Osborne most recently worked as a senior partner at Jenner & Block and has more than 20 years experience representing the company as outside counsel. He succeeds Thomas Gottschalk, who will continue to serve as the company's executive vice president, law and public policy.
Danaher Corp. Hires Former GE Counsel
Washington, D.C.-based Danaher Corp. appointed Jonathan P. Graham as its senior vice president and general counsel. Most recently, Graham served as vice president, litigation and legal policy for General Electric Corp. Prior to his experience at GE, Graham served as a partner at Washington, D.C.-based Williams & Connolly.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
