PricewaterhouseCoopers named Javier Rubinstein global general counsel. Rubinstein was formerly managing partner of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw's Chicago litigation practice. He has been with Mayer Brown since 1989.
DaimlerChrysler Names New GC
DaimlerChrysler AG named Gerd Becht general counsel. Becht succeeds William O'Brien, who is retiring. O'Brien has been chief legal officer of DaimlerChrysler AG since the 1998 acquisition of Chrysler by Daimler Benz, and prior to that had been chief legal officer at Chrysler. Becht joined the company in June as general counsel for Europe, Asia and Africa. He was previously legal chief at General Motors Europe.
Ernst & Young Promotes Deputy General Counsel
Ernst & Young promoted deputy general counsel Lisa Cameron to general counsel. Cameron succeeds Victoria Cochrane, who joined E&Y's board in April and is taking on a new role focusing on quality and risk management.

The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
