H&R Block Inc. appointed Carol Graebner as executive vice president and general counsel. Graebner most recently served as executive vice president and general counsel of Dynegy Inc. based in Houston. She succeeds Nicholas Spaeth, who left the company.

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) appointed Rachel Robbins as its new general counsel. Robbins served as JP Morgan's general counsel and corporate secretary from 1996 to 2001 and spent one year as Citigroup International's general counsel. Robbins most recently served as a strategic advisor to New York-based consultancy Axiom Legal Solutions. She succeeds Richard Bernard, who retired.

Marriott International, Inc. promoted Edward A. Ryan to executive vice president and general counsel for the company. Ryan was most recently responsible for all corporate transactions and corporate governance for Marriott. He succeeds Joseph Ryan (no relation) who will retire at the end of the year.
