Davis Wright Tremaine announced it will merge with the San Francisco-based patent and trademark boutique Parsons Hsue & de Runtz on May 18. DWT says the merger will strengthen the its California patent practice by expanding its technical expertise in the fields of electrical engineering, chemical engineering and physics. Parsons Hsue serves clients in a range of fields, including biotech and digital field.
“Our new colleagues enjoy a stellar reputation for providing strategic representation and zealous protection of their clients' IP, particularly in the areas of electronics, computer science and chemical engineering,” said Alexandra Nicholson, co-chair of DWT's intellectual property practice group. “They are a perfect fit with our California patent group, as their combined range of technical expertise is particularly well-suited to serve the multifaceted high-tech market in California.”
James S. Hsue and K. Alison de Runtz will join DWT as partners. Gerald P. Parsons will join as of counsel.
