The Association of Corporate Counsel and the International Law Office named the recipients of their inaugural Global Counsel Awards, which honor in-house counsel–both individual lawyers and legal departments–who have shown demonstrable achievement in a variety of fields. Selected from more than 2,300 worldwide nominees, the award-winners were announced June 28 at a ceremony in New York.

The winners are:

oCompetition: Brian Henry, the Coca-Cola Company (individual) and Endesa SA (team).

oLitigation: Jonathan Eisenberg, Merrill Lynch & Co. (individual) and Intel Corp. (team).

oRegulatory (financial services): Michael Helfer, Citigroup Inc. (individual) and General Re Corporation (team).

oRegulatory (non-financial services): Antonio Garcia Martinez, COLT Telecom Espa?a SAU (individual) and the Timberland Company (team).

oBest Training Program: Companhia Vale deo Rio Doce.

oPro Bono Award: National Australia Bank Ltd.

oGC of the Year: Daniel Desjardins, Bombardier Inc.
