Justice Ginsburg Treated for Cancer
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has undergone surgery for pancreatic cancer in New York.

The U.S. Supreme Court announced in a statement Thursday that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has undergone surgery for pancreatic cancer at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
According to the statement, the cancer is early stage and Ginsburg, 75, had no symptoms prior to the discovery of a one-centimeter lesion during a routine checkup in late January. She is expected to remain in the hospital for seven to 10 days, said attending surgeon Dr. Murray Brennan.
President Clinton appointed Ginsburg to the high court in 1993. In 1999 she was treated for colon cancer.
In a daily White House briefing Thursday, press secretary Robert Gibbs said President Obama's thoughts and prayers are with Ginsburg, and he wishes her a speedy recovery.
