David Coleman Headley has agreed to enter a guilty plea in front of a Chicago District Judge for the terror attacks on Mumbai in November 2008. The charges also include a threatened attack on a Danish newspaper that was never carried out.

John T. Theis, Headley's attorney, revealed in a phone interview yesterday that Headley will appear before Judge Harry D. Leinenweber on March 18. Headley had entered a not guilty plea on January 27, but Theis did not say to which charge his client will plead guilty. The Danish newspaper Headley threatened had published several cartoons by Kurt Westergaard featuring Islamic prophet Muhammad wearing a bomb in his turban. The Mumbai bombings killed 164 people, six of whom were Americans. Headley will face a possible death sentence if convicted.

The case is U.S. v. Kashmiri.
