Mark Zuckerberg recently lost a bid to end the litigation between him and Olympic rowers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, who accused him of stealing their idea for the popular social networking website Facebook. The feud that was played out in the 2010 movie “The Social Network.”
The Winklevoss twins are challenging the 9th Circuit's April 11 ruling that upheld a “quite favorable” $65 million cash-and-stock settlement they were awarded in 2008. The Winklevoss' say Facebook didn't disclose an accurate valuation of its shares before they agreed to the deal.
The 9th Circuit on Monday decided to halt litigation related to the Winklevosses' lawsuit until they file a request with the U.S. Supreme Court seeking to reverse the dismissal of their claims.
While litigation is on hold, Facebook and Zuckerberg cannot seek the dismissal of a separate Winklevoss lawsuit in Boston federal court.
Facebook said in a filing that the Supreme Court petition should finally put all litigation to an end between the two parties.
