HP, Oracle dispute continues
Oracle Corp. has accused Hewlett Packard Co. of pulling a publicity stunt for suing them for disowning Intel’s Itanium chip.

Oracle Corp. has accused Hewlett Packard Co. of pulling a publicity stunt for suing them for disowning Intel's Itanium chip.
In March, Oracle Corp. made an announcement that it would no longer support its database software on Hewlett-Packard computer servers that use the Itanium chip, which in turned caused HP to sue Oracle.
Oracle stands behind its claims that it and HP weren't involved in serious discussion about continuing support for Itanium.
Oracle is looking to dismiss HP's lawsuit in a Santa Clara, Ca. court saying the class is an abuse of the judicial process.
“[It's] a publicity stunt in a broader campaign to lay the blame on Oracle for the disruption that will occur when HP's Itanium-based server business inevitably comes to an end,” Oracle said.
