Amid its ongoing phone-hacking inquiry, News Corp. is looking to bring on a new general counsel, Bloomberg reported earlier today.

The unnamed Bloomberg source said that the company is in advanced talks with Williams & Connolly Partner Gerson Zweifach. Zweifach has been with the firm for nearly 30 years and focuses his practice on antitrust, securities, libel and commercial cases.

As general counsel, Zweifach will be News Corp.'s point person in the company's handling of its ongoing phone-hacking scandal, which led to 21 arrests and the folding of the tabloid News of the World.

The scandal broke in July when Rupert Murdoch's media company, News Corp., came under investigation for hacking into the phones of various celebrities, including politicians, actors and the royal family, among others.
